Matthew Southgate & 39D

Founder of 39D, a managed service provider for small and growing businesses.

I founded 39D to give SMEs an outsourced IT department with the support, security and technical depth normally associated with much larger organisations.

What is 39D?

39D is a UK managed service provider. Its core role is to take responsibility for the technology small and growing businesses depend on every day, from users and Microsoft 365 through to cybersecurity, backup, connectivity and communications.

What does 39D provide?

  • Managed IT support and proactive monitoring
  • Microsoft 365 management and security
  • Cybersecurity and endpoint protection
  • Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Cloud and infrastructure services
  • Business connectivity and managed networks
  • VoIP and business communications
  • IT planning and technical leadership

Who does 39D support?

The focus is small and growing UK organisations that want professional IT management but do not necessarily need to employ a complete internal IT department. The service can support an organisation directly or work alongside existing internal staff.

What is Matthew Southgate's role?

I founded the business and remain involved in technical direction, cybersecurity, resilience, complex infrastructure and the decisions that affect client risk. My personal consulting work and 39D are closely connected: I can provide direct senior input, while 39D provides the wider team needed for ongoing managed support.

Why the network background matters

39D grew from a strong networking and telecommunications background. My experience with ISP networks, BGP, IPv6, high availability and DDoS resilience means the business can look beyond laptops and help clients understand the complete technology chain their organisation depends on.
